Small fish, large fish is a German TV film by Peter Welz from 2001. It is the 18th episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.

action

The target of the investigation is the arcade owner and pimp Joseph Stankovicz. An "old criminal" whom the Berlin police have not yet been able to prove to bring him behind bars. Now he pushes his way into the arms business, which Reddemann's team is supposed to prevent. Verena succeeds in smuggling Erik Kohnert, a former criminal, as an informant among Stankovicz's people. Contrary to expectations, Stankovicz's man is shot and the operation threatens to fail. But there are also disagreements among the gun dealers. The permanent presence of the police makes Stankovicz increasingly nervous and his young friend Odalis gradually begins to work against him, which Otto takes advantage of. She is ready to testify against Stankovicz, which is not hidden from the arcade owner and he tries at all costs to silence the girl. But Odalis is smarter than everyone thinks. She not only escaped her guards, but also Stankovicz's people and tried to handle the arms business on her own. But she and the arms dealer are arrested. After Stankovicz's son is supposed to answer for the murder of Erik Kohnert, his father voluntarily goes into police custody and confesses to the murder.
