Im Zwielicht is a German television film by Ulrich Zrenner from 2010. It is the 46th episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.

action

Verena Berthold and Otto Garber and their colleagues have to solve the murder of the music producer Steinbach, who was shot in his own studio. The team quickly suspects his dodgy partner Frank König to be behind it. But König has got himself a good alibi and is therefore acquitted by a judge. Reddemann's team is doing everything to ensure that the case is reopened by the public prosecutor. That fails and now Berthold and Garber find out how hardy König is, because he is taking revenge on his girlfriend and company partner Patricia Roth, who has been working with the police since König got a younger girlfriend. They also learn that the judge consumes coke and that he is friends with König, which may be the real reason for his acquittal. Without further ado they arrest the judge for pending justice. Fatally, the internal drug test is negative, but later it turns out that his relationships extend to the laboratory and his samples have been manipulated.

Patricia Roth is now withdrawing her statement, which has exonerated Frank König. But when Berthold and Garber want to arrest König, they find him slain in his office. Garber initially suspects the judge of having silenced König, but the analysis of the victim's last phone calls lead to public prosecutor Böhringer. His daughter was surprisingly the new friend of König. But even with that, the investigators are wrong. Patricia Roth used her chance to take over the music studio alone and not to be booted out by König, which she had to fear massively.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv judged: “'Im Zwielicht' [is an action-intensive case and provides] for entertaining after-work entertainment. The inspectors' ritual game between case and private life, sometimes thwarted by the authorities, sometimes cheeky and self-confident on a course of confrontation, arouses curiosity and creates a good mood. Don't reinvent the genre. Nobody expects either! "

In quotenmeter.de Julian Miller evaluated: "A strong team: Twilight 'by director Ulrich Zrenner a good, sometimes even excellent thriller that continues to struggle with some credibility deficits." But "all the scenes in which things such as abuse of office "Art versus commercialism and the abysses of the German justice system are thematized, work brilliantly."

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm gave it a medium rating (thumbs to the side) and found: "Sluggish beats, bad jokes and inspector chance keep the ball flat." As a result, they drew "The Berlin music is not really strong".

Tilmann P. Gangloff wrote for Kino.de : “The quality of the script and direction is not least evident in the harmonious embedding of the horizontal narrative level, Otto's search for his own apartment; However, it would be a shame if he actually had to move out of his colleague Verena 's home, because the corresponding conflicts contribute significantly to the films' humorous potential. But as the last openly practicing smoker on German television, Otto Garber almost enjoys species protection anyway. "
