Prager Frühling is a German television film by Walter Weber from 2013. It is the 54th episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.

action

Detective Chief Inspector Verena Berthold and colleague Otto Garber are investigating the murder of the truck driver Patrick Scholz, who was shot in a forest parking lot not far from Berlin. During their investigation, Verena and Otto come across an accident that the victim was responsible for and in which two boys died. For the widow of the victim, Dirk Antévic, the father of the boy who died in the accident, is suspect. But it is also conceivable that the victim's former boss was the perpetrator, because there are signs of blackmail. Since the accident, Scholz Hartz was IV recipient and privately in debt. After further examination, however, it turns out that Scholz had borrowed money to cover the costs for the MPU .

A new lead opened up when the internet retailer Klaus Nax was found shot and it was proven that the same weapon was used as with Patrick Scholz. It is noticeable that he also lived in the same housing estate. After evaluating the navigation device, there are indications of a Czech company called Prager Frühling , which issues EU driving licenses. Scholz wanted to get a new driver's license there so that he could go back to work. After a detailed examination, the investigators find out that Klaus Nax had taken over the distribution of driving licenses in the Berlin area and had come across a fraudster. So he had received the money from the customer, but could not deliver the goods, which led to a fatal argument between Nax and Scholz.

When Marion Nax was questioned, it turned out that her husband had shot himself because he should have repaid the cheated customers for their money. But since he had already used up his financial reserves, that was not possible. His wife then subsequently shot her dead husband twice to avoid making it appear suicide for the sake of life insurance.

Reviews

Thomas Gehringer from Tittelbach.tv wrote: “The actual and somewhat awkwardly constructed case doesn't exactly develop breathless tension, but it offers a strong, surprising ending. The quality of the film lies primarily in the unexcited portrayal of social conditions; it is a didactic piece without intrusive moral speeches. The fear of unemployment and financial crashes is understandable and understandable.

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm only give a medium rating (thumbs straight) and say: "Well staffed, but confusing in the end."

Renatus Töpke at the quota meter. de was of the opinion: “The first thing that strikes you about 'A strong team - Prager Frühling' are the strong images with which cameraman Volker Tittel ('A village sees murder') and his gaffer Dirk Steiner-Sennheiser stand out. Great lighting, very contrasting and beautifully constructed, you would imagine yourself in a movie. And that trait runs through the entire episode of the Investigator series. Here every picture is thought out, nothing sloppy or arbitrary. Respect for such first class work. "
