Lug und Trug is a German television film by Peter F. Bringmann from 2001. It is the 17th episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.
action
After a traffic control where Otto does not pass the alcohol test, he has to take the S-Bahn home. As he steps into the car, he comes to the point of two teenagers harassing a third one. Otto interferes and is then attacked by the rowdies . In the scramble, he pushes one of the two away, who then hits his head and loses consciousness. Ingo Voss, whom he actually wanted to protect, runs away so that Otto has no witness for the incident and is now accused of having been the attacker himself. Otto's entire team is there in search of Voss who could relieve the police officer. Unexpectedly, they get caught in a kidnapping case in which the wanted person is involved. His cronies, Benno Sommer and Jens Homberg, kidnapped the wife of the freight forwarder Buchwald. Although the kidnapping was initiated by Anna-Maria Buchwald herself because she wants to start a new life with Benno Sommer and a decent start-up capital, she is defenseless against the men. In order to put the forwarder under pressure, Benno Sommer even cuts off one of the woman's little fingers. As a result, disagreements begin among the kidnappers and Ingo Voss wants to help the police, at least with a statement for Otto Garber. He makes an appointment with Otto and is found stabbed to death shortly before the interview. Otto and Verena quickly find a connection with the Buchwald kidnapping. After the ransom money has been handed over, the kidnappers find that the carrier has linked them, because the money case only contains worthless paper. Benno Sommer then goes to Buchwald and makes it clear to him that he has understood the message. Assuming that the freight forwarder wanted to get rid of his wife in a very elegant way, he made him the offer to kill Anna-Maria Buchwald for a fee.
The investigators gradually discover that the kidnappers are Benno Sommer and Jens Homberg. They can arrest her and learn of the complicity of the abductee and her husband. In a final exchange of fire, Sommer is killed.
