action

Chief Detective Verena Berthold and colleague Otto Garber have to solve the death of a woman who fell from the roof of a skyscraper. According to the identity card that the victim was carrying, it is 35-year-old Barbara Krosanke. A woman by that name actually lives at the address given, but she is not dead. Investigators are puzzled. A consultation with Moritz Anderson from the immigration authorities reveals that the victim is Lisa Markovich, a Belarusian who lived in Berlin without a residence permit and who until recently worked illegally for the building cleaning company Helmes. Anderson is well known that Helmes illegally employs Eastern Europeans, which he has long tried to prove to him. So far, raids have unfortunately not achieved the hoped-for success. Only the investigation into the murder of Lisa Markovich can provide the desired evidence against the entrepreneur, but it does not yet solve the murder.

For this purpose, the officers evaluate the recordings from the surveillance camera in the underground car park. In addition to Helmes, the doctor Husam Abid was also in the house at the time of the crime. After investigating him, they find out that he had denounced Kasimir Markovich, the victim's husband, to the immigration authorities, whereupon Markovich had to leave Germany, which resulted in his death as an opponent of the regime in his home country came. In order to be able to prove the murder of Lisa Markovich to the doctor, the investigators set a trap for Abid. Tatjana Pavlowa, a good friend of the victim, who is also still illegally in Berlin and is hoping for a right to stay, declares herself willing to use the suspect as a decoy to wrest a confession. She contacts him and pretends to have the file from which it can be seen that, as a denunciator of others, he had gained himself advantages for his right to stay. The project succeeds and Abid admits to having pushed Lisa Markovich into depth during the dispute. It was an accident and no intention. When he notices that no one can buy this version for him, he jumps to his death from the roof of the skyscraper.

Tatjana Pavlowa unexpectedly fulfills her wish for a residence permit when team boss Reddemann falls in love with her and Tatjana spontaneously marries.
