Axel Linke

Axel Linke (born July 1, 1966 in Oldenburg in Holstein ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He is the full-time mayor of the Munsterland district town of Warendorf .

Life

Axel Linke grew up in Salzgitter . There he attended the elementary school in Thiede, followed by an orientation stage in Thiede- Steterburg . He graduated from high school in the castle in Wolfenbüttel . He is a graduate in administration (FH) . After graduating from the University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice in Braunschweig , he worked in the treasury of the city of Braunschweig, then in the communal data processing center for Southeast Lower Saxony (KDSON). In 1996 he became managing director of the Association of Participating Communities Hanover. In 2002 he became the full-time parliamentary group manager of the CDU in Salzgitter. From 2006 he was the personal advisor to the newly elected Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel (CDU) in Salzgitter . From 2010 Linke was a specialist service manager in Salzgitter for the areas of order and citizen service. In January 2011 he moved to North Rhine-Westphalia and became an alderman for the city of Rheine . At the same time, he had also applied as the only candidate for the position of alderman in Marsberg , but had withdrawn the candidacy there at short notice. In Rheine he was also the managing director of the Bentlage monastery management company .

Axel Linke is married and has three sons.

Mayor's office

In the 2009 local elections in Borken, he ran as a CDU candidate against Mayor Borkens Rolf Lührmann, who had recently left the CDU . Axel Linke lost the election with 37.4 percent of the votes cast and a turnout of 59.8 percent. On September 13, 2015, Axel Linke, supported by the CDU and FDP , became mayor of Warendorf with 56.9 percent of the valid votes and a turnout of 52.3 percent as the successor to Jochen Walter (independent), who was retiring elected.
