Freundinnen is a German television film by Daniel Helfer from 2008. It is the 39th episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.

Reddemann's team is currently in the process of proving drug deals on a large scale for the car dealer Ulrich Kiefer, but their observation does not bring the desired success. After detective chief inspector Verena Berthold provokes the man, he threatens her.
After many years, Verena meets her old friends Doris and Sarah again. After a stroll through town, Sarah is suddenly shot in front of Verena's eyes, causing her to fall into the Spree. Despite an intensive search, the body cannot be found. The Sagittarius cannot be seen either. Only later does Vera realize that she had lent her friend her distinctive red scarf and that the killer may have mistaken her and that Verena was actually supposed to be killed. Verena blames herself that her friend might still be alive if she hadn't put Kiefer under such pressure. Immediately she goes to Kiefer to confront him. But he denies having anything to do with the attack. After further observation, Verena and her colleagues finally manage to prove the drug trade, but he continues to deny the murder.
Reddemann wants Verena and Otto to deal with the victim's environment, after all, Sarah's husband is suspected of being the sole heir of the company. Gernot Hausmann is currently not to be found, but the investigators learn from the family's lawyer that the Hausmanns are as good as broke. Yüksel's research confirms this. What is striking is a transfer of funds from a foundation that Sarah had set up. After Verena confirmed the death of Sarah Hausmann as a witness to the bank, her lawyer transferred a sum of millions for a children's home in Brazil. From there, a large part of the sum was forwarded to another account. Therefore, the lawyer is strongly suspected of having killed Sarah Hausmann and is arrested.
Sarah Hausmann suddenly reappears safely. After Verena has regained her composure, Sarah explains to her that she needs the money because her husband has been kidnapped. She didn't know what else to do, because since her private wealth was too small, she could only get hold of the foundation funds with this trick. Doris was privy to it and had helped her with everything. Verena does not believe her at first, after all, she had grossly abused her trust. Nevertheless, she goes to work with Otto, Ben and Yüksel to help the kidnapped man. The transfer of money is monitored as closely as possible and Gernot Hausmann can be found unharmed. However, the kidnappers can escape with the money that was made available by the public prosecutor's office at Reddemann's insistence.
Verena finds inconsistencies in the process of handing over the money and it turns out that Gernot Hausmann left his wife as soon as he was free again. Meanwhile, Otto finds evidence that the kidnapping was only faked. It becomes clear that Doris must have arranged and planned everything, as she now wants to break away with Hausmann. Verena and Otto prevent this and arrest them both; they can also find the ransom at Doris'.
Two disappointed friends are left behind.
