Markus Stromiedel
Markus Stromiedel (* 1964 in Bremerhaven ) is a German author and journalist . Stromiedel lives in Cologne.
Life
Stromiedel did his Abitur at the Carl von Ossietzky school center in Bremerhaven . He then volunteered at the Nordsee-Zeitung , worked for some time as a feature editor and from 1988 as a freelance journalist. He wrote u. a. for Die Zeit and the Frankfurter Rundschau , before studying art and music with a focus on film in Oldenburg . In 1994, after receiving an award at the Filmstiftung NRW 's script competition for his screenplay "Requiem", he began working full-time in the film industry, initially for the ARD series Marienhof . In 1996 he became chief dramaturge at Bavaria-Film and built up the development departments at Bavaria. 1997/1998 Markus Stromiedel was Creative Consultant and Creative Producer at Columbia TriStar . Since 1999 he has been working as a freelance screenwriter and producer. His debut on television was the crime scene "Once a day" , with over 10 million viewers at the time the most successful TV film of the year. Since then, Markus Stromiedel has written more than 40 screenplays for television films and series episodes, which have been viewed more than 300 million times.
In 2008 he published his first novel Zwillingsspiel , since then he has also been writing as a prose author. The father of two has also started to write books for young people with the trilogy Der Torwächter , which he himself would have "liked to read as a 12-year-old".
Stromiedel caused a sensation in October 2008 in the context of the quality debate about German television with the article "How television destroys authors" in the FAZ.
