Knastelse is a German TV film by Maris Pfeiffer from 2016. It is the 65th episode of the crime series A strong team with Florian Martens as Otto Garber . For Stefanie Stappenbeck it is her first assignment as Linett Wachow at Garber's side after the departure of his longtime colleague Verena Berthold. Key guest roles are Jeanette Hain , Michael Rotschopf , Inga Busch and Marek Harloff .

action

Their first joint assignment takes Chief Detective Otto Garber and his new colleague Linett Wachow to a construction site at the main train station. There the body of Boris Kastel, who had just been released from prison, was found. According to the research, the victim had a relationship with two women whom Kastel had met through a dating agency behind the prison walls. These "jokes" could well have been capable of an act of jealousy. But he could also have had enemies with former fellow prisoners because of his frequent prison sentences.

A first suspicion falls on Akki Holzer, who had committed a robbery together with the victim and had been cheated of the booty by him. He works in a glazier, which almost exclusively employs former prisoners. Melanie Kipper, the owner, has a lot of understanding for the stumbled men and is also in a relationship with Holzer. So the alibi she gives him isn't very credible. Holzer's conspicuous behavior is later explained when investigators find out during an observation that he is providing doner kebabs to his former prisoners in prison . He regularly secretly throws these fast food products over the prison wall.

The lawyer Olivia Eisner, Boris Kastel's second lover, is very cool in contrast to her competitor and besides Kastel has a relationship with the prisoner Frederick Losen. As it turns out in the end, Kastel Eisner surprised when she was with Losen. A violent argument broke out between the men, Kastel choked Losen, who in return hit him with a heavy figure over the head. Assuming he was dead, the couple then took him to the construction site, where he would have been cemented the next day. Just as Eisner was about to leave, she noticed that Kastel was still alive and suffocated him in panic by pulling a plastic bag over his face. At this point, Losen was already on his way back to prison as his exit ended.

Reviews

Tilmann P. Gangloff from Tittelbach.tv judged: “The title is unusual, as is the story, but not the implementation: 'Knastelse' tells of women who fall in love with prisoners. However, Maris Pfeiffer's film owes its special position in the series 'A strong team' primarily to Stefanie Stappenbeck's debut as the successor to the late Maja Maranow. Actor and character fit into the ensemble in an exemplary manner, especially since the author Alex Hildebrand has refrained from providing his new colleague with starry airs. Rock solid! "

At rtv.de, Martina Borgschulze rated: "In the current case [...] the effect unfortunately fizzles out a bit in a run-of-the-mill thriller due to new entry Stefanie Stappenbeck."

Sidney Schering atquotemeter.de assessed: “Dramaturgically, this case represents assembly line goods: There are the usual wrong tracks, a chase in the last minutes and a semi-thoughtful ending. What stands out from the mass of ZDF thrillers is how the eponymous topic of 'Knastelsen' is dealt with. ”Conclusion:“ All in all, UFA Fiction is entering the new era of its Saturday night crime series under the motto 'Business as usual'. Stappenbeck fits in well with the format in order to attract attention, but instead of just inconspicuously joining in, the mime will need a case that pays more attention to her figure. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm only gave a medium rating (thumbs straight) and said: “Maja Maranow died surprisingly on January 4th, a few days before her last episode was broadcast. We may find out in the next few episodes why her successor always alternates between crowing kindness and sudden aggression. This drags on like a house, the eternal sidekick Sputnik (Jaecki Schwarz) is condemned to an undercover job this time. ”Conclusion:“ Not exactly a rousing new start. ”
