Mount Bernstein is a striking and 2,420 m high mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Lanterman Range of the Bowers Mountains , it forms part of the north face of the Linder Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Captain Fred J. Bernstein (1927-1969), deputy head of operations and United States Navy Support Unit Planning Staff in Antarctica between 1967 and 1968.
