The Lanterman Range is a mountain range about 56 km long and 19 km wide that occupies the southwestern part of the Bowers Mountains in northern Victoria Land. It is surrounded by the Rennick , Sledgers , Black and Canham glaciers .
The area was mapped through the United States Geological Survey and aerial photography from the United States Navy from 1960 to 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named Mountain 164 after Commander William Lanterman of the US Navy, an aviation officer in Operation Deep Freeze between 1959 and 1962.
