Bloody Harvest is a German television film by Michel Bielawa from 2007. It is the 36th episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.

action

A battered woman's body is found in the vicinity of Berlin. Since Chief Detective Otto Garber went to a cure, his colleague Verena Berthold is only investigating this murder with Ben Kolberg and Yüksel Yüzgüler. The first signs suggest that the young woman worked as a farm worker during the apple harvest. Detective Reddemann's team therefore looks around the surrounding orchards to see if the young woman is missing anywhere. This brings success and the sacrifice can be identified as the Polish seasonal worker Elzbieta Plonski. The investigators learn from the wife of the plantation owner, Gudrun Fries, that there was an apple festival the evening before. Elzbieta was engaged to her husband's son, but the other workers say that she also dated her father. Thomas Fries is devastated when he learns of Elzbieta's death. He suspects his father to have something to do with her death.

Ben Kolberg finds out that there is also an ex-fiancé. Therefore, the search is on for Janusz Lubanski because he is believed to have the greatest motive for murder. But the investigators do not let the Fries family out of sight either, because the farm owner is known as the absolute “apple king” who does not tolerate anyone beside him. Therefore the relationship between father and son is quite tense.

Both the crime scene and the "Frieshof" are in the immediate vicinity of the spa clinic, so it is inevitable that Otto Garber is working on the case. It has struck him for a while that the host, Werner Dampmann, whom he visits regularly, has a secret. On the one hand, he has an affair with Gudrun Fries, although her husband is actually his friend, on the other hand, he is apparently being blackmailed by a homeless person. Just as Garber is trying to get information from him, the man is run over by a car. Dampmann has an alibi for the time of the crime, but after two skinheads who are regular customers confess that he paid them to silence the "bum", he is arrested.

"Apple King" Fries previously reported that his friend Dampmann wanted to have sex with Elzbieta on the evening of the Apple Festival, but she refused him. This angered him so much that he beat the young woman wildly in his intoxicated state.

criticism

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv judged cautiously: “'Bloody harvest' is an extremely weak crime thriller from the ZDF series 'A strong team'. Peter Zingler's script is criminologically at best off the shelf, but Michel Bielawa's staging is also extremely awkward - which means that even someone like Vadim Glowna has to waste his exceptional talent. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm only gave a medium rating (thumbs straight) and said: “Purring country crime story without brilliant ideas.” Conclusion: “Wormy fruit from the crime box.”
