Rüdiger Joswig
Rüdiger Joswig (born May 30, 1949 in Anklam ) is a German actor and voice actor .
Life
After training to be an actor at the Leipzig Theater School, Joswig became a sought-after actor in the GDR and, in addition to his theater engagements, a. a. at the Staatstheater Cottbus , more than 30 roles in DEFA and DFF productions . In his first major cinema leading role, as an acting student, he played the former prisoner of war Kurt in the GDR and USSR coproduction "Black Rusk" (director: Herbert M. Rappaport). Further cinema collaborations followed with the directors Heiner Carow, Alexandra von Grote and Wolfgang Becker.
As a result of an unapproved exit application, Joswig was banned from working in the GDR in 1982. In 1987 he was able to travel to the Federal Republic of Germany and became known to a wide audience as Captain Ehlers from 1996 to 2012 through the ZDF television series Coast Guard (16 seasons) . But he also convinced in leading roles in international productions: in the Italian television series L'Avvocato delle Donne (6 episodes) and in the German-Italian television series Thinking about Africa (one year filming in Zimbabwe). Many guest roles followed in series such as Tatort , Das Traumschiff , Alarm für Cobra 11, Soko Munich, Rosamunde Pilcher films, A strong team and many more
He played Jedermann twice, in 2003 in Heppenheim and in 2009 in the Berlin Cathedral, then in 2014 with the Berliner Ensemble Hochhut's “Summer 14”. Again and again he stands on the boards that mean the world , most recently in 2015 in Shakespeare's “Midsummer Night's Dream” and in 2016 in “Wanja and Sonja and Mascha and Spike” by C. Durang.
As a voice actor, Joswig lent his voice to Tom Berenger , Gary Oldman and Michael York and continues to synchronize in various productions.
Rüdiger Joswig is the father of four children and has been married to the actress Claudia Wenzel for the third time since 2003 . The couple lives in Berlin .
Joswig is a passionate pipe smoker. That is why he received the Pipe Smoker of the Year award .
