occupation

Tiefer Fall is a television film from the crime series Tatort by ARD , ORF and SRF . The film was produced by MDR and first broadcast on June 12, 2005. It is the crime scene episode 601. For detective chief inspector Bruno Ehrlicher ( Peter Sodann ) and his colleague Kain ( Bernd Michael Lade ) it is the 17th case in which they investigate in Leipzig .

action

Eight-year-old Tommy Beck is found dead in a forest. Ehrlicher and Kain initially suspect sexual abuse, but this is not confirmed later. The location is not the scene of the crime either and the forensic doctor finds a striking amount of mineral dust.

A world collapses for Tommy's mother, who is expecting her second child. His boy's death also took his father, Holger Beck, with it. He works as a demolition manager in a regional quarry that has just got into financial difficulties. Tommy often played nearby and, according to a boy from the neighborhood, he had a “treasure cave.” So it stands to reason that the child was killed in the quarry. More honest looks around there and when Holger Beck learns that Tommy apparently died here, he is convinced that his colleague and brother-in-law Dieter Fink is the murderer. He had often spent time with Tommy and was fond of his nephew. He vehemently denies having killed him. Ehrlicher believes that an accident is possible.

A notice informs them that a section of the quarry that has been blocked off may have been blasted secretly because the best stone is there. For safety reasons, any dismantling has been prohibited there. If it was actually blown up there, it could only have been Beck. And if his boy was secretly playing nearby, the dust-filled air could have choked Tommy. Had the child been found there, the unauthorized demolition would have become known, which would very likely have led to the closure of the quarry and the loss of all jobs. Therefore, the body was moved elsewhere. But for honest people this explanation sounds too simple.

And obviously it didn't happen that way either, because Holger Beck's body was found the next day. It was supposed to look like suicide, but after the forensic examination it can be ruled out. Somebody pushed Beck into the abyss of the quarry. As it turns out, Beck had an argument with the managing director Siebert that evening and he pushed him out of the window of his office and wanted to disguise it as a suicide. Beck found out that he wanted to cheat him and his colleagues excessively. He had only faked them a lucrative job, for which he had a million dollar loan in prospect. To keep it a secret, he secretly dumped the allegedly sold split in the area at night and accidentally spilled the playing Tommy. When Beck's colleagues find out about this, they are about to drive their allegedly so loyal boss to his death. But she can be more honest and arrest Siebert.
