Death trip is a television film from the crime series Tatort by ARD , ORF and SRF . The film was produced by MDR under the direction of Udo Witte and first broadcast on January 20, 2002. It is the crime scene episode 491. For detective chief Bruno Ehrlicher and his colleague Kain it is the seventh case in which they are investigating in Leipzig .

action

Seventeen-year-old favorite Sebastian Zander falls unexpectedly at the finish line at the Leipzig cycling track and is brought to the clinic. Dr. Catharina Kühn, his doctor in charge, is on the spot immediately, but she cannot prevent the boy from falling into a coma after this circulatory collapse and later dying. After she quarreled with her husband Tobias, who works as a sports supervisor, she suffers a fatal traffic accident the next day. The forensic technician finds a manipulated brake line and calls the criminal police. Commissioner Ehrlicher and his colleague Kain investigate and consider a connection with Zander's accident to be possible. Evidence shows that the athlete had too much hemoglobin in his blood, which suggests illegal use of medication. As a doctor at the sports club, Catharina Kühn should have known that. After breaking into her office and searching through various documents, this suspicion is confirmed.

Commissioner Ehrlicher speaks to Doris Singer, who works for the pharmaceutical company for which Catharina Kühn tested preparations. She is also close friends with the Kühns, which puzzles the inspector. However, she states that a Sebastian Zander was not registered as a test subject for the company.

Cain asks his son, Felix Kühn, about his mother's enemies and receives information about an unpleasant motorcyclist who turns out to be Sebastian Zander's brother. Siggi Zander admits that he threatened the doctor and that he also committed the break-in to bring material against Dr. Bold to collect because he wanted to report them, but he did not kill them. His father also accuses Tobias Kühn of having given the blood preparation to his son. Forensic technician Walter inspects all of the Zanders' knives and tools, but he doesn't find any that were used to cut the brake line of the accident vehicle.

After the preparation in Sebastian Zander's body is clearly identified as that of the pharmaceutical company Doris Singer works for, a house search is carried out on her. Walter finds a pocket knife in the suspect's car, which on closer examination clearly turns out to be a murder weapon. Doris Singer then admits to having cut the brake lines because she was having a relationship with Tobias Kühn. Honestly, this confession comes too promptly and he insists. Not she has a relationship with Kühn, but her daughter. Ehrlicher and Cain arrest Vanessa Singer after ascertaining that she was last using the knife.
