It is the crime scene episode 271. It is the third case for detective chief Bruno Ehrlicher and his colleague Kain in which they are investigating in Dresden .

action

The company of Dr. Franz Willigerodt has developed a special laser within 10 years. Now, however, there is not enough money to produce it. Dr. Dunkert wants to persuade his boss to sign a profitable contract with a company that is also active in the arms industry. Willigerodt emphatically refuses and only wants to work with companies that are exclusively active in the medical field.

Ehrlicher, an old school friend of Willigerodt, reached Willigerodt's birthday party on an excursion boat just in time. After the party, he settles in Willigerodt's house.

Dr. Gawron calls Dr. Fischer, Willigerodt's son-in-law, to give him embarrassing photos of him having sex with Dr. Lore Ewers show blackmail. The conversation is overheard by his wife Sophie. Gawron asks Fischer to meet with him in Naumburg Cathedral and explains to him what Willigerodt is actually developing and that he wants the construction plans and documents. Having become suspicious of the call, Sophie asks Bruno Ehrlicher to investigate.

While Dr. Lore Ewers spends the night with Willigerodt, Ehrlicher forks the completely drunk Dr. Fishermen in a pub. This then initiates him into the blackmail and asks him for help. When he comes home drunk, he gets into an argument with his wife, who is also drunk, and leaves the apartment.

Fischer also confronts Lore Ewers with the pictures, who then confesses to him that they were of Dr. Gawron was charged with sneaking into the company and making him susceptible to blackmail. She offers Fischer to work for the competition; then both sleep together. Fischer's wife watches everything from her car.

The next morning, Willigerodt shows Ehrlicher his new discovery: He has developed a powerful, invisible laser that can be used both for operations and for military purposes. Despite its enormous energy, it does not leave any visible damage at the point of entry. In return, Willigerodt shows the pictures of Lore and his son-in-law Günter Fischer more honestly and makes it clear to him that she wants to spy on his company.

Willigerodt now tries to reconcile himself with Fischer and give him bigger tasks in the company. Dr. Dunkert therefore has to hand over the documents to Fischer, who then immediately wants to forward the material to Gawron so that he can join his company.

Fischer meets with Gawron to sign the contract and hand over the documents. Meanwhile, Willigerodt wants to hand over management of the company to Lore Ewers. She refuses, however, and confesses that she worked for Gawron's company. Willigerodt believes that she is no longer working for the competition and the next day she announces that she will marry Lore Ewers and hand over the company.

Meanwhile, Fischer learns that the material is worthless and meets with Gawron again. He puts him under pressure and ultimately asks him to obtain the right data. Fischer then meets with Willigerodt at the company. He tells him that he should work with Lore or that he has to leave the company. Fischer is also supposed to meet Lore Ewers in the office at 7 p.m.

When Lore drives onto the company premises at around 7 p.m., the laser detonates her car. Fischer immediately calls the emergency services and tries to extinguish the car; she is already dead, however. Fischer informs Commissioner Ballmann in Naumburg that he considers the explosion to be an accident.

However, Ehrlich is suspicious and believes in an attack. At the scene of the accident, Willigerodt found that his security card, which was used to gain access to the laboratory and the laser, was missing. Honestly tries to find out who might have taken the card.

Eventually it turns out that Willigerodt killed Lore himself. He had Dr. Fischer ordered to the company at the time of the crime and obtained an alibi from Ehrlicher. He had also given Fischer the opportunity to take the card to take a look into the laboratory and thus come under suspicion. With the help of a "talking clock", Ehrlicher can prove that Willigerodt was at the company at the time of the crime and not, as he claims, at home.
