Rainer Oleak

Rainer Oleak (born November 29, 1953 ) is a German musician , composer and producer .

Life

Rainer Oleak is the son of the astrophysicist Hans Oleak . Oleak studied measurement technology and room acoustics at the Technical University of Dresden . He then completed an apprenticeship at the “Hanns Eisler” music academy in Berlin and studied piano , composition and composition .

Oleak had been a member of the band Neue Generation since 1978 . After this broke up in 1979, he joined forces with some musicians from Neue Generation, including Neumi Neumann , and founded Neumis Rock Circus . In 1983 Neumann - the head of the group - left the GDR, which also meant the end of the band. In 1984 Oleak founded the band Datzu and toured with them through the Soviet Union, Cuba, Austria and France. 1985 Oleak recorded the electronics album "Zeiten" with Reinhard Lakomy . In 1989 Datzu dissolved, at the same time Oleak began working as a film composer. In 1994, for example, Oleak produced the second Christmas record Merry Christmas in the family of Frank Schöbel and composed and produced the freestyle music for Katarina Witt at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . For the Puhdys he also produced their second Christmas CD in December Nights (2006) and the CD for the band's 40th anniversary, Adventure - the anniversary album (2009). Ostrock in Klassik with many East German bands and artists as well as the Babelsberg film orchestra was created in 2007. Since 2000 he has also been composing regularly for the Störtebeker Festival in Ralswiek .

He has worked as a composer and producer on over 300 television and film scores.
