Not without my lawyer is a ZDF lawyer series that was broadcast in 2003. The subtitle is Choices for Life . The committed lawyer Georg Ritter helps ordinary people with legal disputes.

Georg Ritter was actually supposed to take over his father Arno's car repair shop. But he decided to study law, which he completed with excellent grades. He declines an offer from a major law firm to pursue a career in Singapore , because he sees his vocation as helping little people to get their rights. When his friend, the aged Berlin lawyer Ignaz Demuth, suffers a heart attack, he seizes the opportunity and takes over his office and clientele. His colleague Ms. Ziesemann doesn't like the fact that he doesn't take the fee payments so seriously. The ambitious lawyer always has trouble with the policewoman Silvia Wedekind, and the press in the form of the journalist Katja Krieger is not necessarily on his side.
