Dietrich Mattausch

Dietrich Mattausch (born April 26, 1940 in Leitmeritz , Reichsgau Sudetenland ) is a German actor .

Life

After completing secondary school , Mattausch initially did an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent and at the same time took private acting lessons. He began his career at the basement theater in Mainz .

In 1963 he played at the Junge Theater Göttingen , 1964/1966 at the Komödie in Frankfurt am Main , 1966/1967 at the Landestheater Schleswig , 1968/1969 at the Landestheater Detmold , 1969 at the Badische Landesbühne Bruchsal , 1969/70 at the Theater Baden-Baden , 1971 at the stages of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck and from 1972 to 1974 at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen .

From 1975 to 1979 he was engaged at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg , where he appeared under the direction of Peter Zadek . He played Rodrigo in Othello (1976), Camillo in Das Wintermärchen (1978), Brinan in the German premiere of Ayckbourn's Fun Aside (1979) and Kenneth in Lost Time (1984) by John Hopkins in Zadek productions . Other roles were Phileas Fogg in Jérôme Savary's Around the World in 80 Days (1978) and Cassius in Julius Caesar (1986)

In 1979 he moved to the Freie Volksbühne in Berlin , where he continued to work with Zadek. Here he played Philinte in the world premiere of Enzensberger 's Molières Menschenfeind (1979) and Vincentio / Hortensio in The Taming of the Shrew (1981).

In 1980/1981 he made guest appearances at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich as a doctor in August Strindberg's Der Vater and in 1996/97 as President of Walter in Kabale und Liebe .

Dietrich Mattausch played in numerous television films and series. The longstanding role of Chief Inspector Rick in the ARD series Der Fahnder brought him great popularity and popularity .
