Dogs have short legs ( working title : Gone to the dogs ) is a German love story and a comedy of director Josh Broecker from 2006. In the lead role embodies Tim Bergmann successful real estate agent Thomas Andersen.

action

For real estate agent Thomas “Tom” Andersen, things couldn't really go any better: His brokerage business is flourishing, and he also has a great influence on the world of women due to his attractive appearance. But a family problem intervenes: his uncle Ebi needs him because he has to go to the hospital himself and needs someone to look after his dog during this time. Since his uncle has always been there for him in the past, Thomas cannot refuse this request. He agrees, despite the fact that he actually can't stand dogs.

With all his professional projects and taking care of the dog, it is becoming increasingly evident that Thomas is overwhelmed. He could not have imagined beforehand that Hoss, his uncle's dog, would be Tom's most loyal companion. The plot even leads to the fact that Tom ultimately owes it to the dog that his planned business projects can continue.

Reviews

Rainer Tittelbach thinks that the film “is not a Christmas film, and yet it is difficult morally like many television films in December. A sex addict yuppie on his way back to being human. A child, a bulldog and a lawyer help ”. The film critic's conclusion is: “The hero confides in a dog. It's funny and tragic at the same time [...] ”.

TV Spielfilm judges: “Consistently staged moral kitsch with good main actors and a terrific boxer. Unfortunately, the story is totally predictable ”. The final sentence of the program guide reads: "Done passably, but very transparent".
