Helmut Metzger (director)

Helmut Metzger (*  1959 in Radolfzell on Lake Constance ) is a German television and feature film director .

biography

Metzger was born in Radolfzell in 1959. He lived with his family in neighboring Moos until 1979 , when he graduated from the Mettnau-Schule-Radolfzell high school for social education . He then began studying music with a focus on singing and guitar in Freiburg im Breisgau . During his studies he discovered his interest in cinema and film, so that at the age of 23 he began to work in the film and theater sector. He initially worked as an intern at a film company in Wiesbaden and attended drama school. To get to know the work as an actor, he worked in tabloids and children's plays. Through stations in the driving service, in the production line and as assistant director, Metzger finally got the chance to direct an episode of the series Die Wache . This was followed by directorial work for the series Alarm für Cobra 11 , The Crimes of Professor Capellari , For God's Sake , Agathe Can't Avoid It , Katie Fforde and many more. So far (as of 2015) Helmut Metzger has made around 40 television films and around 100 episodes for series. Today he lives in Dachau with his wife and two sons .
