Die Motorrad-Cops is a German television series, shot from 1999 to 2000. The pilot film was broadcast on March 30, 2000, after which a season of 22 episodes was shot. The episodes were, however, divided into three seasons. Further episodes were no longer produced.
background
The astute head of the group is Tom Geiger ( Matthias Paul ), he drives a BMW Cruiser. Kai Sturm ( Jens Peter Nünemann ) is the daredevil, his Ducati 900 goes well with it. Sunny Labonne ( Yvonne de Bark ) is the only woman in the trio, she owns a Cagiva Enduro. The three make up the “Risk Team” of the state criminal police.
action
In Cologne there is a bank robbery with hostage-taking that ends fatally for the perpetrators. A stranger shot and escaped undetected. He left a capital Y as a sign . The investigator of the State Criminal Police Office Tom Geiger founds the special unit Die Motorrad-Cops , also known as the “Risk Team” , on the instructions of his boss Ruth Westendrop ( Suzanne Geyer ) , in order to quickly find out about the perpetrator. The group has Wolfgang Abendroth ( Gerhard Naujoks ) as assistant and investigator and reports to Westendrop. She is later replaced by the criminal director Julia Steiniger ( Rhoda Kaindl ).
concept
Hermann Joha , who helped shape the successful RTL series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei , was in charge of the action direction . His company Action Concept was also responsible for production. The film was shot from March 1999 to November 2000 in and around Cologne and North Rhine-Westphalia.
Oscar winner Hans Zimmer provided the background music .
