Hermann Joha (born February 17, 1960 in Lohr am Main ) is a film and television producer and managing director of action concept Film- & Stuntproduktion GmbH and hands-on producers GmbH & Co. KG. He is also a professional helicopter pilot, former stunt performer , television presenter and action director .

Life

Joha started his career as a stunt professional at the age of 17 when he joined the English auto artist group Hell Drivers in the late 1970s. In 1982 he founded the stunt company Driving Unit in Düsseldorf, which was involved as a second unit for television productions such as Tatort , Die Wache , Großstadtrevier and Eurocops . He doubled Götz George in the Schimanski films and sat behind the wheel as a stuntman for The 7th Sense in accidents.

At the same time, Joha organized rock festivals from 1982 to 1992, at which the action element dominated, including the 1986 motorcycle and rock festival on the Loreley with Manfred Mann and Joe Cocker . In 1988 organized the festival for the Werner race with, among others, BAP and Roger Chapman .

With his action concept film and stunt production founded in 1992, Hermann Joha took over the second unit for numerous action films for television and cinema and developed and produced formats such as the DSF magazine Stuntteam , which he also moderated.

In 1997 he received the first unit contract for the Alarm series for Cobra 11 . He produced the series 112 - You save your life and Lasko - Die Faust Gottes , which was nominated for the German Television Award 2009 as Best Series. Further productions are Turbo & Tacho with Axel Stein and Daniel Roesner , In a bridal dress through Africa with Wolke Hegenbarth , Geister all inclusive with Kai Schumann and Annette Frier , the MEK 8 series and various second unit orders, including for the Indian film DON 2 with Shahrukh Khan . In 2012, his company action concept co-produced the feature film Rush - Alles für die Sieg by Oscar winner Ron Howard and in 2014 he co-produced the feature films COLLIDE and Boy 7 with his company hands-on producers, and in 2016 he co-produced the film Out Of Control with Chinese partners .

From time to time Joha takes on the directing or guest appearances in his series and films. He owns and operates the Hotel-Restaurant Franziskushöhe in Lohr am Main .

honors and awards

In 1996 he received the Golden Lion for his work on Alarm für Cobra 11 . In 2012 he received the German TV Prize “for special achievements in the field of fiction” and the Indian Filmfare Award for the action scenes in DON 2 .

The Taurus World Stunt Award in Los Angeles for the best action in a foreign film went to productions by Hermann Joha in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
