Stefan Krohmer (* 1971 in Balingen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German film director.

biography

After graduating from high school, Stefan Krohmer studied film, television and theater studies at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and then directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . Several short films followed. His graduation film Barracuda Dancing was awarded the sponsorship award at the German Television Prize and took second place at the Studio Hamburg Young Talent Award . Daniel Nocke is responsible for most of Krohmer's scripts for his films , with whom he also directed the television film at the end of the season , which was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize in the Fiction / Entertainment competition in 2002.

A year later, Krohmer made his cinema debut with the film drama You have Knut , which received the German film critic's award in the “Best Screenplay” category. In the same year, his television film Familienkreise was invited to the competition at the Baden-Baden Television Film Festival and Krohmer was awarded a special jury prize. His second feature film, Sommer '04 , was released in 2006, although it did not receive an award but was well received by both critics and audiences. For the docudrama Dutschke , Krohmer received the golden gong together with Daniel Nocke .
