action

Entrepreneur Peter Staude invited headmaster Andreas Rogel, long-time friend of his wife Christa, and his wife Heike to dinner. Heike, who works as a doctor, and Peter have had a secret affair for six months and Christa suspects that her husband is cheating. She accuses Peter of this while eating and goes to her room. Heike and Andreas are embarrassed by the situation and Andreas wants to find out the reason for Christa's behavior. She tells him that Peter, who is considered a great benefactor in the field of disability support, actually financed the family villa with donations that were actually intended for the construction of a support center. Andreas is convinced by the documents that Christa's accusations are true. He wants to confront Peter, but Heike tries to stop him. At an event where Peter's commitment is celebrated, Andreas can talk to Peter, but he denies everything. He introduces Andreas to the attractive Simone and lets him stand. Christa in turn decides shortly afterwards to move out of the shared villa.

Andreas receives a surprising visit to the school from journalist Peck, who was already at the event. He suspects that Peter is not clean and suspects donation embezzlement, which Andreas confirms to him. Shortly afterwards, Peter receives an inquiry about the amount for which he bought the property from his friends' association on which he built his villa shortly afterwards. Peter had received it below market value and immediately suspects that Andreas gave the journalist information. When a revelatory article about Peter appears in the newspaper shortly afterwards, Heike breaks up with Andreas and tells him that she is having an affair with Peter. She moves in with Peter, who in turn wants to destroy Andreas. He launches an article in the newspaper that reveals that Heike has left Andreas for Peter, making Andreas' actions seem pure revenge. Andreas had such big problems at school because the article was posted all over the building and his colleagues were now suspicious of their boss. He also receives a visit from Simone, whom he found attractive at the party and who has a disabled son. Peter's engagement gave him a perspective and Simone makes it clear to Andreas how much she despises him.

Andreas contacts Peck and complains about the apparent disclosure of his identity. Peck reassures him that there are much bigger things against Peter than “just” the house at donation costs. Peter's company is bankrupt, but takes on major projects to collect the funds. The projects, in turn, will never be realized. He indicates that Peter's house will be searched shortly. Andreas warns Peter and above all wants to get him to hand over Simone's files so that she doesn't get involved in the case. Shortly thereafter, Peter's business premises are searched and he suffers a faint attack. In the hospital, he is already planning a pompous dinner with greats from politics and business to restore his image. In front of Heike he pretends that nothing really is, plans a vacation in the south and gives her expensive jewelry. At the end of the evening only Christa, Heike, Andreas and Simone and her son Moritz appear for dinner. All other guests have canceled. While eating, Peter takes out Simone's files, which he put aside after Andreas' warning. Simone is uncomfortable with the situation, while Heike reacts jealously. The tense situation is interrupted by a doorbell: Peter is arrested by the police. Only Moritz tries to stop the police car. Simone goes to look for Moritz. When asked, Andreas accompanies them.
