Jochen Laube
Jochen Laube (* 1978 in Ludwigsburg , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German film producer . With his film production company Sommerhaus Filmproduktion GmbH he produces feature films for cinema and television, series and documentaries . Jochen Laube is a member of the German and the European Film Academy.
Life
Jochen Laube studied production at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and graduated in 2005 with the film Vacation from Life . From 2002 to 2003 he was a VFF scholarship holder . 2004 Caligari Prize Winner. During his studies he worked as a production assistant at Peter Greenaway's production The Tulse Luper Suitcases in Luxembourg and was involved in the Germany-wide children's cinema concept Magic Lantern by UNESCO . In 2006 he founded Sommerhaus Filmproduktion , with which he produced films such as Novemberkind and the documentary Sonbol , which was awarded the Grimme Prize .
From 2008 to 2015 Jochen Laube worked as a producer for teamWorx , later UFA Fiction , where he managed the Ludwigsburg office.
During this time, award-winning cinema and television films were made, including the 2012 mini-series Baron Münchhausen , Kreuzweg , nominated for an International Emmy , which ran in the 2014 Berlinale competition and was awarded the Silver Bear for best screenplay, or We are young. We are strong. , which premiered in Rome and Tribeca and was nominated for a Lola of the German Film Award 2016 in the category Best Film. In 2015, Jochen Laube founded Sommerhaus Filmproduktion GmbH with Fabian Maubach . Together they produced In den Gänge (directed by Thomas Stuber ), Sandra Nettelbeck's Wasn't kills , which premiered on the Piazza in Locarno , and Dominik Graf's RAF crime scene Der Rote Schatten .
Jochen Laube was appointed to the Producer on the Move program in Cannes in 2013, is a member of the German Film Academy , has been part of the First Steps jury since 2017 and teaches at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy. He is also the initiator and curator of the Ludwigsburg film festival Lichtspielliebe .
