Collecting society for film and television producers
The collecting society of film and television producers mbH (VFF) is a German collecting society based in Munich . The shareholders are the Alliance of German Producers (formerly the Federal Association of German Television Producers ), Südwestrundfunk and the Second German Television .
Business area
The VFF exercises the producer's ancillary copyright in accordance with Section 94 for in-house and commissioned productions. The public broadcasters ARD and ZDF as well as the private television broadcasters RTL, SAT 1, ProSieben, DSF, VOX, RTL 2, Kabel 1 are authorized to exercise rights. In addition, the rights of some regional television broadcasters and German contract producers are also exercised.
In 2005, proceeds of around EUR 26 million were available for distribution to its members.
Areas of Perception
In particular, the claims from the device delivery and empty cassette remuneration according to § 54 , § 54a , § 54d of the law on copyright and related rights are taken into account . The VFF also secures the rights for producers and broadcasters in the area of recordings by public institutions. The activities of the VFF are subject to state control under the Collecting Societies Act . The supervisory authority of the collecting society is the German Patent and Trademark Office in Munich.
Promotion Fund
A total of 5% of the proceeds of the VFF flow into a support and social fund, with which cultural issues from the field of the production industry can be promoted as well as the social fate of individual beneficiaries can be mitigated.
scholarship
The company annually awards scholarships to particularly qualified students at German film schools specializing in production / media management. In addition, the VFF supports young people in setting up their own businesses.
