Badische Landesbühne

The Badische Landesbühne is a theater based in Bruchsal . The Badische Landesbühne (BLB) shows between 380 and 420 performances per season, with around 1/3 of the performances being played by the children's and youth theater. The program includes musical programs, classical drama and contemporary drama in the evening program as well as in the children's and youth theater. A special feature are the annual open-air performances in both categories in June and July . During the Bruchsal theater summer, these open-air productions can be seen in the park of the Bruchsal Baroque Palace.

history

On September 29, 1949 the "Kulturwerk des württemberg-Baden Unterlandes GdbR" was founded in Neckarsulm . First performance: Jedermann by Hugo von Hofmannsthal. In 1951 it was converted into a registered association, and in 1952 the theater moved to Bruchsal as the seat of the city. In 1953, the city of Bruchsal joined the “Unterländer Volksbühne sponsoring association”. In 1960 the property at Klosterstrasse 6 in Bruchsal was rented for administration and technology. In 1980 rehearsal rooms were rented in Wilderichstrasse 31 (rehearsal factory). The own division “Children's and Youth Theater” was founded in 1980. The first performance was Max und Milli by Volker Ludwig . 1986 own workshops in Bruchsal, John-Deere-Straße 21 were completed. In 1987 the city theater in the Bruchsal community center was moved into.

The Badische Landesbühne is run in the legal form of a registered association and is recognized as a non-profit institution. Today four districts, 16 member municipalities, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts form the supporting association. The member locations are mainly located in the northern Baden region. The traditional play area extends from the Bruchsal-Bretten area to the Tauberbischofsheim and Wertheim area. In addition, guest performances are performed throughout Baden-Württemberg and the neighboring federal states.

Partner theater

In 2005 a partnership was initiated with the German State Theater Timişoara (Romania) with the participation of the Interior Minister of Baden-Württemberg Heribert Rech and the Donauschwäbischen Kulturstiftung des Landes Baden-Württemberg. The aim is to overcome borders and promote the exchange of cultures. In addition to exchanging employees in all areas, the Badische Landesbühne carried out a successful tour in February 2005 with the productions Urfaust by Johann Wolfgang Goethe and for children Die Reise nach Brazil by Daniil Charms in six locations in Romania. The German State Theater Timisoara gave a guest performance in Bruchsal in June 2006 with the award-winning production Feuergesicht by Marius von Mayenburg .
