Peter Gerdes (* 1955 in Emden ) is a German writer.

Gerdes lives in Leer . He is married and has three daughters. After studying German and English , he worked as a journalist and teacher. His literary beginnings began in the late 1970s; He has been writing crime fiction since 1995 and is active as an editor. He is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS) and the " Syndikat ", head of the "Ostfriesische Krimitage" and the "Ostfriesischer Krimisommers". He has been nominated for literary prizes at home and abroad.
