GR is the abbreviation for the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland and is used to avoid confusion with other entries of the name Stams (disambiguation) . ff

The Walser settlement of Stams is a mountain meadow in the village of Says , which has belonged to the municipality of Trimmis in the canton of Graubünden since January 1, 2008 . It is 1645  m above sea level. M. above the hamlet of Hinter Valzeina.

The Maiensäss Stams from the southeast

The Maiensäss is located in a saddle that is located on the ridge that leads from the Ful Berg ( 2390.8  m ) to the Zipperspitz ( 1774.4  m ). This ridge separates the Valzeinatal from the Rhine valley . The saddle is located between the Scamerspitz ( 2014  m ) and the Sayser Chöpf ( 1771  m ).
