Marius von Mayenburg

Marius von Mayenburg (born February 21, 1972 in Munich ) is a German author and dramaturge .

After graduating from high school, he studied ancient German at the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich and has lived in Berlin since 1992, where he studied at the University of the Arts from 1994 to 1998. He was a dramaturgy employee at the DT BARACKE. Since 1999 he has been a dramaturge and in-house author at the Berlin Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. He wrote plays such as: Haarmann , Feuergesicht , world premiere Münchner Kammerspiele, 1998, Parasiten , UA Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, 2000, Perplex , world premiere Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz , November 2011, then at the German-Sorbian People's Theater in Bautzen.

He received the following awards: Kleist Prize for Young Dramatists , Frankfurt / Oder, 1997, for Fire Face ; Prize of the Frankfurt Authors' Foundation, 1998, for fire face .

In January 2008, the short film adaptation of his eponymous play Eldorado was completed.
