Martin Engler

Martin Engler (* 1967 ) is a German singer , composer , actor , director and radio play speaker who lives in Berlin and is known for his numerous radio play recordings.

Life

After graduating from high school , Martin Engler first studied theater studies , philosophy and political science . He then trained as an actor from 1992 to 1996 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

The Maxim Gorki Theater engaged him in 1995 . He then worked as a freelance actor and director in the capital, among other positions at the Berliner Ensemble , for the German Theater , the Hebbel Theater and the Volksbühne on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and at the Schaubühne on Lehniner Platz . He has also worked for the Schauspielhaus Wien and the Staatsschauspiel Nürnberg , the Dublin Theater Festival as well as at the Célestins-Théâtre de Lyon and in Luxembourg . From 2006 to 2009 he was part of the permanent ensemble at Theater Basel . During the 2011/2012 season, Martin Engler played as a guest in the ensemble of the Wuppertaler Bühnen .

Furthermore, since 2000 he has been acting as a lecturer at the Berlin Academy of Dramatic Arts "Ernst Busch", "notorious speaker and director of radio play productions in Germany, Austria , Switzerland and France ". These radio plays have won several prizes, such as the Prix ​​Italia , the Children's Radio Play Prize of the City of Karlsruhe , the Karl Sczuka Prize and the Gold Award for Radio Broadcasting . Since 1999, Martin Engler has appeared in around 130 radio plays.

He is also involved in the production of short and experimental films as well as interdisciplinary projects between drama, visual arts and science. Engler also sings, composes and arranges, for example songs by the Swedish national poet Carl Michael Bellman .
