Beate Andres

Beate Andres (born January 7, 1965 in Darmstadt ) is a German radio play director .

Life

After studying theater, political science and sinology in Munich and Cologne (1985–1992), Beate Andres studied theater directing with Jürgen Flimm at the University of Hamburg in 1991 . From 1995 to 1998 he was assistant director at the Thalia Theater Hamburg with Jürgen Flimm and Yoshi Oida, among others . From 1998 Andres also directed several pieces independently at the Thalia Theater and the Schauspielhaus Kiel.

In addition to her theater work, Beate Andres has made a name for herself as a radio play director since 1998. Her productions of Daily Bread (Text: Gesine Danckwart ) and Träume (Text: Günter Eich ) were named radio play of the month . Parzival's Weg von Tankred Dorst with music by Andreas Bick was nominated in 2006 for the “ARD Online Award”. In 2005 Andres won the international Prix ​​Marulić radio play award with the play Minotaurus (based on Friedrich Dürrenmatt ) , and in 2008 she achieved second place with the radio play "Song of the Niebelungs". Her piece Tempo was the 2008 WDR contribution to the Prix ​​Europa .
