Gesine Danckwart
Gesine Danckwart (* 1969 in Elmshorn ) is a German playwright , author , theater and filmmaker .
Life
Gesine Danckwart studied theater studies, founded a free theater in Berlin and worked on stages in Vienna, Mülheim, Hamburg, Mannheim and Berlin. Her breakthrough as a writer came in 1999 with "Girlsnightout". Her pieces are now being played with great success at home and abroad.
In October 2009 Gesine Danckwart stayed 12 days in Beijing at the invitation of the Goethe-Institut Beijing, where she staged a continuation of Ping Tan Tales with a German-Chinese ensemble .
In 2009 Danckwart's first film UmdeinLeben premiered at the Munich Film Festival.
