Michel Déon (born August 4, 1919 in Paris , † December 28, 2016 in Galway , Ireland ) was a French writer.

Michel Déon was born in Paris in 1919 and studied law there. He was then a war correspondent in southern France . From 1942 to 1944 he was the editorial secretary of the authoritarian-nationalist magazine L ' Action française and assistant to Charles Maurras . After living in Greece for a long time, Ireland later became his adopted home.
