Yves Boisset (born March 14, 1939 in Paris ) is a French director and screenwriter .

life and work

Yves Boisset first came into contact with the film as a critic. He was particularly interested in American film noir . From 1967 he also worked as a director and appeared in some of his films as an actor. Boisset's work is predominantly shaped by crime films. In films like Kommando RAS or Monsieur Dupont , current social issues such as the Algerian war and xenophobia are addressed. Since the 1990s he has made almost exclusively television films with a historical background: The Seznec Affair , The Dreyfus Affair , Shot for the Fatherland (Lucien Bersot case), Jean Moulin - Life in the Resistance or L'Affaire Salengro

In 2011 his autobiography La vie est un choix was published .
