Ginka Steinwachs ( pseudonym for Gisela Steinwachs , born October 31, 1942 in Göttingen ) is a German writer .

Life

Gisela Steinwachs grew up in Göttingen. After graduating from high school, she studied philosophy , comparative literature and religious studies in Munich , Berlin and Paris . In 1970 she did her doctorate at the Free University of Berlin under Klaus Heinrich with a thesis on André Breton as a doctor of philosophy. She then lectured at the University of Paris VIII in Vincennes , at the Paris École Normale Supérieure de l'Enseignement Technique and at other universities in Munich, Berlin and Zurich .

Since 1974 she has worked as a freelance writer under the name Ginka Steinwachs in Berlin and Hamburg ; since 1982 she has also appeared as a performer with her own texts. From 1974 to 1976 she led writing courses in Erlangen ; In 1981/82 she worked as an assistant director at a theater in Barcelona . In 1988/89 she held a visiting professorship for poetics at the University of Hamburg , and in 1993/94 a lecturer at the Vienna School of Poetry ; In 1999 she was Writer in Residence at University College Dublin . The author now lives in Berlin and Mallorca .

Ginka Steinwachs' literary work is under the influence of classical surrealism , the movement with which she also dealt as a literary scholar . In her novels , plays , radio plays and performances , she uses surrealist techniques to propagate her personal variant of feminism , which is primarily about the rediscovery of sensuality.

Ginka Steinwachs, who is a member of the Association of German Writers and the PEN Center Germany , received a. a.
