Walter Alder on the dulcimer (2011)

Walter Alder (born July 23, 1952 in Urnäsch ) is a Swiss folk musician from Urnäsch in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Adler comes from the Alder family of musicians, who founded their original string music in 1884. He is a co-founder of the Alderbuebe band and a trained farmer , teaches dulcimer and develops this instrument further. In addition to his main instrument, the dulcimer, he also plays the accordion , piano and double bass . He has worked his way up to one of the most important representatives of typical Appenzell music, which is assigned to the traditional country trader. The accompaniment with accordion and piano creates a synthesis, so to speak, between the Appenzell and Central Switzerland styles.
