Golden treble clef
The golden treble clef is considered to be the highest award in the field of folk music in Switzerland . It is an award for people who are in the field of Swiss folklore sounding like Ländler - and brass bands and the choir and yodelling have made a special contribution. The award has the greatest significance in the Swiss folk music scene. It is not associated with any amount of money.
The golden emblem was initiated in 1958 by Paul Künzi . His idea aroused the interest of his friends Ernst Blaser, Jochem Schlatter, Robert Ehrismann and Peter Casanova. The association was founded in 1978 and Peter Casanova was elected as its first president (other presidents: Robert Schweizer , Rolf Zwahlen , Walter Näf ).
Candidates for the Golden treble clef are usually suggested by the respective national associations ( Swiss Federal Yodel Association , Swiss Brass Band Association , the Association of Swiss folk music , the Society for Traditional Music in Switzerland ) and the extended board of the association chooses in January each year a new vehicle from the Candidate, to whom the award will then be presented in a festive setting.
The Golden Treble Clef holds regular events with bearers of the Golden Treble Clef.
The Schweizer Folklore-Illustrierte Alpenrosen is the organ of the “Golden Treble Clef”. Information and articles about the awards are regularly published there.
On the occasion of its twenty-five years of existence, a double CD with contributions from all holders of the Golden Treble Clef was released.
