René Wicky

René Wicky (born December 3, 1941 ) is a music producer, music publisher and accordion player from Oberägeri in the Swiss canton of Zug . 1957-71 he played - until 1959 as a temporary member, then as a permanent member - in the country band of the old master Jost Ribary senior. One of the formation's regulars was the Konkordia restaurant in Zurich , where, according to Wicky, the title “ Steiner-Chilbi ” was in great demand. From the beginning of the 1960s to the 1980s, René Wicky had his own band, with which he had successful appearances on radio and television, as well as some records. He worked his way up to a versatile music producer who mainly concentrates on traditional country music and brass music . Among his regular guests were the trio Bürgler-Rickenbacher with Dominik Marty , who developed the typical Illgauerstyle . 1977 saw the first recording of the later evergreen " Urnerbodä Kafi " with Kurt Albert and his musicians, who from 1980 called themselves " Echo vom Tödi ".

The Ländlerkapelle Jost Ribary-René Wicky has existed since 1983 - first with the son, then with the grandson of the aforementioned old master. With the one from Jost Ribary jun. in 1973 Chatzebüsi-Länders (Katzen- Länders ) composed an evergreen in which the "meow" is interpreted with the soprano saxophone. René Wicky made his name as a composer and arranger of folk music and popular brass music a name and is now one of the most important Landler -Akkordeonisten. He also played in the Ländlerkapelle Dünner - Mooser- Wicky .
