Urnerbodä Kafi is a Scottish from the Swiss rural scene . The mother of the accordionist Kurt Albert, who comes from Uri , once whistled an improvised melody, which the musician processed into his first own composition. The original version was recorded by him and his musicians in 1977 under the direction of René Wicky . Kurt Albert played the Urnerbodä Kafi regularly with his country band Echo vom Tödi, founded in 1980 . The melody has become an evergreen and is also played by the Glarner Oberkrainern in the Oberkrainer style and in the concertante Central Switzerland style with soprano saxophone or two accordions.
