Alpenrosen - The Swiss Folklore Magazine is a Swiss music magazine that deals with topics related to Swiss folk music. It was created in 2003 from the two magazines, Swiss Musicians Revue and Folk Events Calendar, and is published every two months by Alpenrosen Verlag GmbH in Schwellbrunn with a circulation of around 10,000. history

On January 1, 2003, Martin Sebastian, former program director of Radio Eviva , became editor-in-chief of the “Swiss Musicians Review”. His main task was to develop a new, contemporary magazine from this magazine and the “Folk Events Calendar”. In March 2003 the first issue of the new magazine appeared under the name Alpenrosen - Das Folklore-Magazin der Schweiz . On May 1, 2006, the design of the magazine was revised, the editorial focus was placed more on Swiss folk music. After the previous editor and publisher Hanspeter Balsiger retired in 2012, editor-in-chief Sebastian also took over these functions. Since 2017, the magazine has also been integrating the new trends in Swiss folklore more, for example with reports on new folk music , e.g. B. the Heiden Festival .

Content

In addition to contributions from the field of Swiss folk music, Alpenrosen contains an extensive "Folk Calendar of Events" which, in addition to traditional folklore, also includes popular hits .

Various Swiss associations use Alpenrosen as a publication platform, among them the IG Swiss brass bands and the associations of flag throwers , alphorn players and harmonica players. Alpenrosen is the organ of the golden treble clef.
