Werner Strassmann

Werner Strassmann (* 1935 ) is a Swiss musician , conductor , arranger and music instructor.

Strassmann studied piano and horn at the Conservatory and the Music Academy in Zurich and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. 1960–63 he was in Algeria and signed up as first principal horn player at the Opéra in Oran . There he directed the horn and chamber music class at the Conservatoire . After returning to Switzerland, he trained as a conductor from the music director Heinrich Steinbeck in Arbon . He played the horn in the Monte Ceneri and Beromünster radio orchestras and in the orchestra of the St. Gallen city ​​theater . He conducted various music societies and was a full-time music instructor in the Swiss Army for 32 years . From 1977 to 2002 Werner Strassmann conducted the internationally known police music in Zurich City and performed the music a. a. in the United States at the Rose Parade in Pasadena (California) or at the International Music Festival in Sydney (Australia) to great success. In 1994 he was awarded the Golden Treble Clef for his musical achievements .
