Marie-Therese von Gunten

Marie-Therese von Gunten (born November 8, 1951 in Baldegg, municipality of Hochdorf LU ) is a Swiss yodeler and lives in Beatenberg . At the time, she completed an apprenticeship as a farmer in the Fahr Monastery in Würenlos and worked as a service employee, saleswoman and cook. Later music became a profession for her as a conductor . In 1978 she took over the direction of the Jodelchörli Geuensee ( Chörli for “small choir ”), for which she also composes yodelling songs. She took singing lessons from Alex Eugster and founded a children's yodel choir in Roggwil . She also made her way through her yodelling duets with Maria Elmiger, Hans Schöpfer and Ruedi Renggli as well as with the yodelling band resp. Singing trio with Franziska Meyer and Priska Wismer a name. In 2006 she was awarded the Golden Treble Clef for her musical merits . At the yodelling festivals she is one of the most sung composers.

On October 22nd, 2017, the Christian Catholic service with Guntens yodelling mass "Bhüet Euch!" broadcast live by SRF from the Augustinian Church in Zurich.
