Franz Stadelmann (musician)
Franz Stadelmann (born August 10, 1942 in Escholzmatt ) is a Swiss yodeler , composer and folk musician .
Life
Stadelmann comes from a musical farmer family. He learned all of his instruments - the accordion as main instrument, the piano , the bass violin , the guitar and the mandolin - in self-study . By profession he is a farmer, driving instructor and since 1974 part-time teacher at the Escholzmatt music school . Since 1960, he and his sister Vreni have formed the yodel duet Vreni and Franz Stadelmann , with which he gained national fame. In 1962 he founded the Ländlerkapelle Paradiso in Schüpfheim . Since 1966 he has been running the Alpenglühn yodelling club in the Wiggen district of Escholzmatter .
Countless country melodies, choir and yodel songs were created in his work. His best-known song is called Der Fränzeli , which Franz Stadelmann performs as a solo yodeler . It is believed that he interprets himself as a former rascal. In 1993 he was awarded the Golden Treble Clef for his musical work . In 2012 the yodel duo Vreni and Franz Stadelmann was awarded the Prix Walo 2011 in the yodel category. The albums 20 Years and 25 Years were awarded gold .
