Urs Mangold

Urs Mangold (born February 17, 1954 ) is a Swiss country musician and Kapellmeister from the canton of Basel-Landschaft . He plays the Schwyzerörgeli , clarinet , bass violin , guitar and recorder . He is called the promoter of folk music in the Basel area , as this was previously rarely asked for in this region, according to statements from experts. Mangold is a pensioner, was a full-time primary school teacher and made his contribution to Ländlermusik with the Oberbaselbieter Ländlerkapelle and the Sissecher Holzmusig . Own compositions

Urs Mangold composed around 100 titles. Many of his compositions can be downloaded free of charge from the Haus der Volksmusik website. In 1988 he won first prize in the composition competition at the international folklore festival in Freiburg im Üechtland . In 1992 he achieved 2nd and 3rd place in the composition competition of the Interlaken Folk Music Days. In 1994 he again reached 2nd place at this event. His compositions are played on various CDs and he has appeared on around 30 recordings. He has self-published several music books for folk music.

Award

In 1988 the Golden Tell and in 1999 the Golden Treble Clef were awarded to Urs Mangold.
