Franz Regli
Franz Regli (born April 14, 1935 in Netstal , Canton Glarus ; † May 18, 2016 ) was a Swiss composer , conductor and music director from the Swiss canton of Glarus.
Life
1956–60 he studied guitar , double bass , harmony, instrumentation and piano at the Zurich Conservatory . At the same time he played in the Tonhalle Orchestra. 1960–62 he attended the Zurich Jazz School . He went through numerous stations. From 1972 until his retirement he was director of Harmoniemusik Glarus, which u. A. the Glarner Landsgemeinde musically framed. In 1979 he founded a mandolin quartet that made a name for itself in the canton of Glarus. Franz Regli also looked after the instrumental ensemble Franz Regli and his musicians , which he provided with numerous original compositions. In it he also plays the Greek string instrument bouzouki . Regular singing guests were Bruno Rigassi , Stixi (real name Erwin Stixenberger) and Sonja (real name Sonja Truffer ).
Franz Regli has worked on numerous sound carriers, and compositions by him have also been published on various sound carriers.
