Werner Diehl

Werner Diehl (born June 1, 1946 ) is a German entrepreneur and was chairman of the supervisory board of the family company Diehl Stiftung & Co KG .

Life

Werner Diehl is the oldest three sons of Karl and Irmgard Diehl. After studying law , which was followed by six months of advanced training at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in São Paulo and a one-year internship at the auditing company KPMG in Munich, he was admitted to the bar in 1975 by the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court . As early as April 1, 1975, he became an authorized signatory in the family company and took over as head of the liaison office between the board of directors and the central administration. After further positions in the former areas of defense technology and semi-finished products, Werner Diehl took over the management of the group's finance and asset management in 1983. In 1987 he took over the chairmanship of the Karl Diehl Foundation for people in need, founded by his father . On September 15, 1992, Diehl became a member of the company's board of directors and, from 1998, was also on the supervisory board. After his father Karl left the company in 2002, he became chairman of the company's supervisory board. In 2008, on his 62nd birthday, he handed over the position of chairman of the supervisory board to Claus Maenz-Sibje. Werner Diehl lives in Switzerland.

Awards

On October 15, 2006, Werner Diehl received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Bavarian Order of Merit from the hand of the Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber .
