Simone Meyer

Simone Carola Meyer , née Schneider (born July 26, 1962 in Duisburg ) is a German author.

Life

Simone Meyer grew up in Xanten (Lower Rhine) and did her Abitur at the Lise Meitner Girls' High School in Geldern. Studied German, theater studies and philosophy in Munich, Cologne, Berlin. During her studies she worked as an assistant director at the Théâtre des Amandiers in Nanterre. Graduated Magistra Atrium (MA) from the Free University of Berlin. Work as a literary and theater critic for various daily newspapers and broadcasters, u. a. at taz and at the SFB. During her work as a theater and radio play author, Meyer taught scenic writing at the UdK Berlin. She was a co-founder of the Berlin authors' association "Theater New Type", which presented new German plays at the Renaissance Theater Berlin. Since 2003 she has worked as a writer on various television series, especially Polizeiruf 110 and Tatort . She develops series concepts for Grundy-Ufa and Studio Hamburg. Two stories from her planned volume of stories Ten feelings that are difficult to describe were published in 2013/14 as offprints by Alligatorpress. She is married to the painter and draftsman Christoph Meyer . She lives and works in Berlin .
