The Pfundskerl is a crime series by producer Karl Spiehs , filmed from 1999 to 2004 in Germany.
action
Chief reporter Gottfried Engel ( Ottfried Fischer ) leads his single life in a Hamburg guesthouse, which is run by the amiable Mrs. Kruschke ( Monica Bleibtreu ). Tanja Rohloff ( Carol Campbell ), who also lives at Pension Kruschke, will be Angel's colleague at the Blitz Kurier from the 5th episode (based on the Hamburger Morgenpost ). Since the musical Cats , in which she took part, was played in the Operettenhaus Hamburg and was also canceled, she applied to Stein for the position as a photographer. Together they take care of supposedly small stories, but behind which there are bigger crimes.
Claas Ackermann ( Ferdinand Dux ) is also a permanent guest at the guesthouse, cannot pay his rent all the time like Engel and lives off the boatman's piano playing on St. Pauli and helps the "LA" Engel find his way around Hamburg. Engel solves the shady cases and leads some problems to happy endings, while also receiving a top story. His journalistic competitor Günther Lesche ( Max Volkert Martens ) does not grant him this success and always wants to appropriate Engels cases, which he never succeeds.
